This art piece was one of my favorites i have done. This is the sketch and not the painting. Comparing the art pieces i used more detail for the second drawing including shading, hair, the nose is more realistically drawn in the second drawing. The 3D blocks, the shape of the head, and the shoulders were actually the hardest part. I like the dress i drew but i wish that i had a more realistic tone to it? If that makes sense. I learned how to shade and the correct way to draw the overall face of a person including hands. I wanted to draw a human, but as a doll form, that ment i would have to leave out the really detailed facial features out because it is supposed to look unreal. In the first picture, that is a sketch of Maya M. I purposely made her eyes close so i wouldnt have to draw open eyes. The hair shows how curly and thick it is because of the way it is shadowed. I dislike the nose because it is a cartoon nose and it just doesnt look right. The shoulders are a little off as well. I could of done better in that drawing.
1. What is art?
This question is the hardest question to me at least. Art comes in all shapes, forms, and sizes. There are a variety of ways you can express your artistic side, and So many people do all around the world. Some people think art is just about drawing or painting but it isnt. Whatever you think is art, can be art, it doesnt have a limit.
2. What is the point of this class? What did you get out if it?
This class is to give artists a chance to expand there learning. It helps them grow more and more into being a better artist then before, it also shows what flaws they need to work on. What i got out of this class is how to sculp, how to draw and sketch correctly. I didnt even know that there were diffrent techniques to water color. All of this i will remember and try working better on.
3. Do over
I would do over the post card. I honestly didnt work hard enough on that and i disnt give my best effort on it. I should of tried harder and gave it my all. Thats all i have to say.
